OK. My wife and I sold our house, half of our furniture, changed jobs, bought our boat and went through a very draining move from MN to FL with dreams of great boating every weekend and 'fun in the sun' year round.
We wanted to boat, and the idea of being on a river in MN where boating season is 1/2 of the year wasn't too appealing. Apart from that we loved the Twin Cities. But, in our minds, the year-round and great boating was going to compensate for the other things we'd miss.
Here's how it's turned out: We get thunderstorms pretty much every afternoon, many times decide it's not even worth it to venture out, and when we do sometimes it's frequently to end up cutting the day short because of approaching 'weather'. Of course, dry stacking the boat isn't helping, as we have no dock to just go and hang out in... that's a bad call on our part...
So here's my question to those long time Floridians:
-How long does this daily storm pattern continue? End of August? September? October? When can we expect at least a FEW great weekends where we don't have to be tracking the weather continuously?...
I can tell you we've been having some serious converstaions about migrating to the "PIKE"'s roaming grounds and becoming "puddle ducks"... at least those hail storms don'e come by once a day.
