Florida Red Tide

You cannot fish when there is a Red Tide. You will be lucky if you are able to breathe on or near the water. Kills off a lot of fish each time it happens. Postpone your trip.
 
We tested the Clams after a Red tide by throwing a piece of a Clam to the neighbors Cat.
If the Cat died, the Tide was still in the Clams.
 
Bob, Nothing down our way, but we have been hearing about it all summer north of Tampa. It really has not moved much.

Thanks Ken. That's what I was looking for, I know it's been way off shore for most of the summer. I was just wondering if anyone had seen it getting closer to shore.

Either way though, I postponed my trip until it cools down a bit and water temperatures fall.
