Flutterbyl....I was thinking about you today. I was checking my boat out of the shop, getting ready to chase salmon all over Monterey Bay. By the time the bill was added up, I was pale, my pulse was rapid and I had visions of handing over the title to my home. Then I remembered what you always say about the whole in which you throw money into......amid the groans I had to smile. Hope all is well with you in that you got rid of that bottomless pit.

LMAO!!! Thanks for thinking of me--I think! My pocketbook is greatly relieved to not have the expense of a boat, but my heart still yearns for the lifestyle and sharing time on the water with fellow boaters. But such is life.....

And I get to keep up with my boat, now the Dora Dee, as she keeps my son busy on the Bering Sea, Nome Alaska. So all is not lost!

Good luck with the salmon catching! One of my all time favorites.

Liz, get yourself a kayak (maybe two) and a bottle of wine...

She was interested in kayaks a bit ago. What happened to that?

DBH,
Whatcha hear about Monterey? Pretty lean up here.

I had an opportunity to use a friend's kayak last August on Lake Tahoe. It was pretty neat! But there is no place to sleep or cook a meal..... I guess I've been spoiled!

According to my better half the bathroom (or lack of) is the most important issue. For less than the price of even a reasonably-sized boat you can eat out and sleep in the Hilton (but potties are more immediate).

it's a little thin and you have too really work for them....some are having some luck on the west side of the Soquel Hole trolling 150-180 feet down...burn a lot of fuel but it beats sitting at home....hope it picks up
