1991 Santego. One of the tachs developed a sort of foggy look on the inside of the plastic lense two winters ago. Anyone know if this can be disassembled? I think I could polish it out if I could take it apart. Just looking from the rear doesn't look like it will come apart. Any input welcome.

they all come apart somehow but if it is water the sun should dry it out

Thanks Bruce, but it has been over a year now, and hasn't gone away. Kinda weird . . . If I get some extra time I'll probably try pulling it out and apart.

Please post the outcome. I also have foggy appearing gauges but not from moisture, looks more like dust/dirt. Not sure how to disamble the guages to get to the back side of the glass. Hope you figure it out and post your findings.

Thanks,
Bob

I was able to clean up mine when we had the Montego. They do come apart. I forget how but it must be easy if I figured it out. Try unscrewing the bezel... I seem to recall that being the method. Once apart you can clean the glass and leave the gauge apart for a couple of days in a dry place (our basement has a dehumidifier) so any residual moisture in the gauge can dry out as well. After I put ours back together they stayed clear for the following two years that we had the boat.

Thanks Mike, I now have hope :) I've been busy on the hull cosmetics, and have a trip coming up soon. Will probably work on this a little later this summer.
