Anyone tried the Ford truck trailer steering function. Sounds like a neat way to reduce the delay at launch ramps.

They show a control knob in commercial that assist or automates the trailer backing process. Haven't seen it in action or used it.

very brief mention in a commercial during the football game. Seems to be a very clever idea that is not getting much advertising but I think could be a big help to a lot of frequent trailer users.

I'd love to try out that system .
I generally have no problem backing trailers by steering with hand on the bottom of the steering wheel moving the direction I want the trailer to go. But this Ford system uses the cameras to help show where the trailer will end up and has follow-up counter-steer. Looks like it has very interesting potential

In spite of the rather arrogant follow-up posts in that link, I've seen plenty of people who claim they are experts mess up impressively from time to time especially when tired after a trip , at night , or, say, backing a short utility trailer when used to a long boat trailer.

Why knock it if they have not tried it?

I like to see them do it on a single axle trailer.

Saw it on a commercial during a football game - same thing, I'd love to try it for my two annual trips to the ramp each year :)

When I bought my 2015 it was off a lot. They told me I could order a 2016 and add the trailer assist for 695
