Forest Hills restaurants

Austin street has a bunch of good restaurants. Agora Taverna is greek but has awesome seafood. Has outdoor dining as well. Danny Brown wine bar is on Metropolitan but has very good food. London Lennies is not in Forest hills but is nearby in Rego Park. Great seafood here as well but also has many traditional chicken/steak options as well. London lennies has been around since the 60's.

five burro café for amazing Mexican food. Portofino is good for Italian. lots of great places in that area.
Austin Street between Yellowstone and Ascan has a number of places. Some of the side streets that run between Austin and Queens Boulevard along that strip have places too. Best bet is to find a parking spot and have a look around until you see something you might be in the mood for.
Eddie's Sweet Shop on Metropolitan at 72nd Road is pretty close to that area and is a good place for an old time Ice Cream Dessert. It's not that far from Austin, but you're better off taking the car for the 5 minute ride over to Metropolitan.
If you would rather have Ices than Ice Cream, then the Lemon Ice King of Corona is a pretty short ride from Forest Hills across 108th Street to Corona Avenue on the north side of the LIE.
If you want good Italian Food, the Parkside is right across Spaghetti Park from the Lemon Ice King.
In fact. That would be my choice. Dinner at the Parkside, and some Italian Ices for dessert after the heavy meal. Might be best to call for a reservation at the Parkside though.

For me too Don. The Parkside was a bar with a different name when I was a kid. My elementary school was only a few blocks down 108th St. and back then we were allowed to leave the building for lunch which was often a 15 cent slice at the closest Pizzeria, and a 10 cent Ice from the Lemon Ice King.
