FOWH Weekend

Thank you for the info

We'd be coming from Seaford. Keep the boat at treasure island So the trip doesn't seem to brutal.

The wife and I prefer low key spots on the water. Every once in awhile loud and flashy is fun, but that's what NYC is for.

If its a good place with good people, edible food, some beaches and drinks, I'm thrilled. Checking out the website now. Looks like a perfect spot to check out. New to boating out here. So far I got my Tobay sticker and have spent a few nights there. Heard atlantique is nice, but not a resident so can't guarantee a slip if I head out there. That doesn't seem to be a problem here, correct?

Correct.
If you join FOWH and pay the extra $10 you get an advance reservation.
Normally you can only make a reservation the day you come.
Plenty for your size boat.
One word of caution, you do need a 50 amp 125v adapter which most boats don't have.
I assume you have 1 30 amp cord.
I have an extra adapter if you need to borrow it.

Atlantique is nice off season.

Looks like we may get fireworks.
Does anyone know if South Bay means Davis park?

Watch Hill is a very nice place. The beauty of WH is the people ' the location and the people from friends of watch hill that maintain this place

I'll be coming from Freeport now but when I had the big boat I would go from Lawrence and as far as Glen Cove. I thought it was worth it.

It's a really nice facility that is very reasonably priced. This is a really good group at FOWH.

If you liked Tobay, you'll really like Watch Hill. It's been a few years since I've been there (have to make time to get out there this year) but it is a real nice place.
It is quieter than Tobay with a nicer walk to the beach.
The one bad thing about it is the bugs. If you have an express style boat like me without a camper back be prepared to spend some time in the cave during the early evening. The rest of the time is fine though.

Forgot about the bugs, very true, but not really a big deal, you just hide in the boat for an hour or so. Watch Hill has been around a long time, my Dad use to take us there as the first place we would go on our two week vacation, that was back in the mid 60s. Does anyone have any pictures of the place from back then?

That's some great info and the place definitely sounds like it'd be perfect to spend the weekend or longer. Going to give a call over there, join and make a reservation. Just need to double check the dates...might have an obligation for part of that weekend.

Glad to hear they have plenty of slips, and thank you again for the info about the electric adapter, I may have to take you up on that.

I've been lacking the time to head east past the RM Bridge, but finally have a couple of low key weekends, so looking forward to exploring so many things out there.

I'll keep you guys posted when I make the reservation.

All registered and in slip C24.

Now here's to hoping I can find it!

Thanks for the good info guys

Hopefully early Friday, maybe even Thursday after work if it's not too late.

I have to attend a wedding Saturday so I can only spend one or two nights ... .or leave the boat and come back.

If I leave the boat Saturday I can spend another few nights there

walterv - when are you heading out there? Seems like most people stay for at least the long weekend.

I got errands and wife is in the City.
So I may not head out until Friday afternoon.

I may go Thursday night or early Friday morning, not sure yet.

No problem.

I will send you contact information when we get closer.

Guess im the only one going on wed ?

: ) ...

Guess i get a picnic table this time !
