Have the "issues" of not being allowed to serve food that arose at the end of last season been resolved? It was a fun stopover and in my view, awfully reasonable considering it was the only game in town for a bite to eat and some drinks at a waterfront/back/sides location.

Didn't even know that they were stopped from serving food. Does anyone know when an dwhy that happaned? Details?
 
I had food there last September/October, all was pretty good then..
 
Something happened where an inspection shut them down late in the season. The inspection was rumored to have been instigated by another relatively local eatery. That is water under the bascule bridge so I am just wondering if food is being served now and thought that some of the early fish in the water might know.

the snack bar will be opening april 28. i love going over there for a quick bite and my daughter loves stopping by for icecream. i just wish they would expand the menu a bit. the only seafood they have is fried flounder or shrimp. i would gladly pay more for some fresh caught fish. cool spot though.
 
IMHO,
The food has never been anything but okay at best. But the ambiance and being able to pull your boat up for a bite to eat makes the place a great stop. Service is slow, but the young ladies that have worked there are very nice and IMO very attentive. My guess is the kitchen is the culprit on poor service, thinking that on high volume days they get overwhelmed.

Not sure where the "lighthouse" on Wellwood Ave is on docking your boat, but the food there is really good and priced well for the quality of their food.
 
The food is definitely not the draw. The fun is having a bite and a drink in the middle of the water, enjoying the sights and having your favorite boat nearby.

Issue at the end of last season was the town came in and asked for a fryer permit and they did not know they need one. Town said too bad, no more food. It is my guess that someone that owns a competing resturant called the town. I know they opened on Saturday, but do not know if they are all up and running again.
