The toilet in my cuddy head sounds like metal rubbing metal when we flush. There is a Purasan system installed. Any ideas about the metal rubbing sound.
 
You should move this topic over to the Marine sanitation forum for some expert responses.
 
Which model head do you have? Are you sure the PuraSan treatment system is causing the noise? If the sound coincides with activation of the treatment system I would 1st check the waste transfer pump also know by many as the macerator.
 
Did it used to sound different, or is this a new boat to you?
 
I do not necessarily think the Purasan is the cause or even involved with the noise but wanted to make sure I gave all the pertinent info I could.

The toilet has just started sounding different. We have had the boat for four years.

There is actually a heat smell (I know that sounds odd). But when we flush the friction on metal may be causing a heat issue.
