I know fuel is more expensive in the Caribbean. I have heard an average of about $1 more per gallon than US prices.

I have done some searching and have not found anywhere that shows a reasonable way of finding prices. Most marina web sites do not list prices, or have ancient prices.

Does anyone have a suggested site or tool for getting reasonably current prices?

Thanks

Caribbean or Bahamas?

In Bahamas, Nassau is about $1 more than it is here but the smaller islands (chub cay, staniel, etc) are even higher, between $0.50 to $1 over Nassau. Active Captain has some pricing info but there aren't enough contributors down in Bahamas to make it current enough

It s been a while since I ve been in the Carib fuel prices vary by island depending on taxes

Thanks for the reply.

I am speaking of the Caribbean. Planning a run all the way to BVI.

And my confusion comes from the "$1 more" thing that everyone uses. Fuel prices can vary by $1 in the NYC area, so not sure what this means. If I could figure it out, like "Miami gas was $4 and same day gas was $5" that would give me some guidance.

I know it is gonna be expensive, one way or the other.

When I say $1 more I mean over what i pay before leaving (I always call before fueling to find the best price whether delivery or dock)

Well, the BVI are not that far into the caribean so it s really ghe prices in the bahamas that will have an impact on your trip, and the DR

The best way to get accurate prices is to call and ask. Even I look out the exact prices I paid two months ago it wont mean much. Cruising guides have the phone nrs or online at active captainans other resources
