If you head up the Severn River you can get diesel in Little Round Bay at Smith's Marina for $3.90, which includes tax. They are one of the cheapest in the Annapolis area and it's a nice trip up the Severn, tucked in behind St. Helena Island.
Piney Narrows $3.899....Annapolis Harbor $3.849(I filled up here a couple of weeks ago; sign read $3.899 and pump read $3.629).....Annapolis Yacht Basin $3.820.....Filled up at the Yacht Basin on Sunday....
I guess I'll look forward to getting home to MD and paying the discounted rates you all are posting. I just bought mid-grade right off the ICW in North Palm Beach and it was $4.85/gallon! Thankfully, I only needed 5 gallons.
The trades off are two down here:
1 - This gasoline doesn't contain any crap-ahol.
2 - The marina rates are much cheaper than MD. We're paying around $1.30-$1.50/foot at really nice places. Even Worton Creek is more expensive than than now (an example of a place that was this cost:
We just passed a marina on the ICW in North Palm Beach that was $5.05 for gas (not sure of grade). Speaking to someone who just got back from the Bahamas, some places there are up to nearly $10/gallon for diesel!
Wait, is this thread open to the public? If so, I might be giving M'OM ideas!
("M'OM" is short for Martin O'Malley; our crappy tax-loving, fee increases-loving governor in Maryland.)
Saw $3.49 for Diesel and $3.56 for gas at Fairbanks Tackle in Knapp Narrows.
Had a short haul last Thursday at Harrison Yachts in Kent Narrows and got topped off on land for $3.35 for Diesel ... the only cheap thing that day ....
In Portsmouth, was that before or after taxes? I was talking to a fellow over the 4th. His total at the pump and his check out at the counter were not the same amount. The cashier told him the pump price did not include taxes.
$4.10 (gas 89 octane, 10% ethanol) Monday 7/4/2011 at Leeward Marina, Newport News. Marina is at the base of the James River Bridge at the mouth of the James and the bay. Easy access behind concrete breakwalls.
$3.79 + tax for diesel at St Michae'ls Marina. Volume discount over 300 gallons. We took 360 gallons over the weekend (filled us right in our slip, which is worth a few pennies per gallon right there). Got the volume discount, stayed at the marina and paid in cash so Mike charged us $3.76 tax included.
