Hi All,
I've got a 2001 Crownline 238 DB with a 5.7L GXI DP. Recently, I broke the boat out to use it for the first time this year. Generally, I've not had any problems until last year whereby my dealer said the Fuel Pump relay had failed. No problem as that didn't cost much. However, this year the boat wouldn't start again and the dealer said "it's a bad fuel cell. It's a module that the fuel pump is a part of and it all has to be replaced as a module. $790.00 + labor about $1000.00" !!!!
Now I realize that there are two fuel pumps but this is stunning. I've researched this part a bit and it seems to be on the up and up but is there anything I might try as an alternative?
Thanks for your consideration.
