in the cleveland area all the marinas are pumping ethanol free gas which is a good thing. However the gas is only 87 octane.There is no stabilizer added or anything else. Does anyone know of ab octane booster that actually does any good. My valve covers state 89 octane minimum.

Are you sure none have 89?

If your engines' timing is not computer-controlled you could reduce advance a tad to prevent knock with 89 if that is all that is available. And if they are ECM/ECC controlled injected engines, the knock sensor should cause timing retard if 89 started to cause knock. The stabilizer in the gas when it is new should keep it from having any lower octane rating for ~~ a year.
