Vic, et. al.,

It appears I will have to replace the FW pump on my soon to be owned 50' Chris Constellation. I have fairly long plumbing lines forward and aft and the FW tanks are BELOW the pump level.

In your sage opinion what is the best FW 12V self priming pump in the 4 GPM or better range?

Your thoughts (and all others) are greatly appreciated!

I've had good luck with Jabsco Par-Max pumps. If not already installed, I think it would be a good idea to add an accumulator tank for such a large system.

I personally like GROCO's Paragon and Paragon Junior, but they're REAL BIG bucks! They use a rotary pump, similar in princlple to the rotary engine used in the Mazda RX series cars. I was good friends with the engineer who invented that pump, back in the '50's. He passed away a few years back.

The variable speed Jabsco unit is also considered to be pretty good.
