I have a 1998 carver with a kohler 6.5 generator. It does not have a inline filter. What would you guys suggest? i have plenty of line and a place to mount it but not sure what kind i need.

Are you experiencing fuel issues? My genny has a filter, but like for most gennies, the pick-up is higher in the tank than it is for the mains. As a result, the filter isn't exposed to any of the contamination that settles in the bottom of the tank. Changing that filter is barely on my maintenance list anymore.

Not at this point, was just looking to do so as preventative. Don't think its needed?

Depends on the quality of your fuel. I've only taken on clean/pure fuel. If you're suspect of your suppliers, it might be good peace of mind.

I have an inline fuel filter on my '93, 6.5KW Kohler genny. Also has a canister filter before it gets to genny.

I'm sure it has a inline. I was looking to install canister. Not had any trouble yet with gas at my marina. I may just wait and see if I have any issues.
