Is it typical profiteering to charge 'gas station prices' when doing boat work? Just paid for a tune up(and my olf parts with 10 hours on them look like I could sell thema s new on ebay) and prices were thus:
8 plugs $34.64
gimbal brg 69.oo
2 'gear oil' 50.00
2 points kits 36.16
1 qt PS fluid 4.50
trim solonoid 18.00
Plus 2 4 cyl merc tuneups at 277.00
Summerize 125.
check low units for leaks 62.50
gimbal labor 90.
derig/rerig od's(?) 120
Aside from the tune ups, the labor was not too crazy. They came down 15% for $$ but those parts keeps them in clover me thinks.
Opinions? Labor in NY is abour 90/hour and that's a tumble down blue canopy roofed grese pit on the water. They did bay test included in the price so I got a free launch(who says there's no free launch?)
