New boat, detailed and waxed at delivary.
Two days ago I noticed a number of yellow stains over the stb side, starting at the fuel vent. There had been some slow leaking of gasoline due to high temps (over 100 degrees)--at least 10 gallons had been run out of the 75 gallon tank, but the aft end of the boat was lower, and I suspect that there was still gas at the vent point.
Anyway: First tried methyl alcohol, which removed about 75 to 80% of the stain. Then tried about everything else: Davis FSR (Similar to MK on & Off), acetone, laquer thinner, of course dish washing soap in high concentration. We did some hand buffing--and not much came off. Next plan is to at it with a buffer and 3 M finesse-it. (An agressive compounding agent).
Any suggestions? (incidently, it also damaged some of my new graphics!--darn. I guess I'll have to make the lift absolutely level!
Thanks in advance.
