It is that time of year again...for one of my favorite days on the water....Gasparilla.

anybody heading up is welcome to raft up with me. i should be anchored in front of tampa general hospital by 1030 am.

if interestd...or you want more information...let me know....it will be a blast.

I am planning on going. I have in-laws that live on Davis Island. We have been planning this for a year.

Ken

so does that mean you are staying with the in laws?

I have been informed, that the group intends on inventory reduction of adult beverages. It looks like I will be staying on the island if they have their way. If not I will find a nice spot and anchor for the night. Still a long ride back to Tarpon Springs once the festivities are over. I have no intention of having a severe hangover on Sunday and then having to make that trip. I will probably only have a drink or two all day, then dump the crew.
Last time I went with them,.......there was trouble. I must say, I was not the one in trouble, but I did learn a lot from that incident.

Ken

this is part of the reason i elect to drive...no hangover the next day. by being captain i am forced to stay sober.

I am a Gasparilla Virgin. The wife and I Will be aboard her cousins boat. Now I can drink. All I am suppose to bring is beer and a case of beads..this is gonna be fun

Aqua -- are following in the flotilla? Or are you going to anchor and watch it pass by?

According to the folks I am going with they follow the flotilla..what they do after that I am not sure

keep your eye out for us. if you want a place to tie up once you follow the flotilla in...and if i have room....you are welcome.

following the flotilla in is tons of fun. you will have a blast.

Picking up my beads this week. This Gasparilla Virgin is going to get his cherry popped...ARGHHH!!!!!

Gasparilla, Mardi Gras and the Superbowl.
That place is going to be busy for awhile.

3.5 days....i have a full crew. we have two boxes of beads

aqua -- you did not need that cherry anyway...

36 hours and counting....man it will be a long day at work tomorrow

Due to cold weather, I played hooky today. This means I will have to work at least till noon Friday. Maybe by then it will be warm enough to head that way. Looks like I have a 4-5 hour trip to get there.
Over half of my crew is in the bed sick with the flu.

Ken

UPDATE: Due to the cold weather that stayed around too long, along with the fact that low tide prevents me from departing until about 8:45 AM. I just decided to cancel the trip. Maybe next year will be better.

Ken

baynews 9 showing the invasion now. A good place not to be driving a boat today.
