Getting that smooth look

Looking for installation tips for installing foam backed vinyl? Proper way to apply 3M contact cement? Wait time before intall?Temp? Best way to smooth out large pieces?

I can't tell if you're offering advice, or seeking it.

We are updating the interior of our boat. All large panels have been removed. All foam backed vinyl removed. 3M indicates glue temp best at
+60 deg. All old sections were used as templets for new ones. This weekend we hope to start putting it all back together. Looking for tips so we do not make to many mistakes. Boat is stored inside. 150 yds of foam backed vinyl to install.

It must not be too hard but I bet the pros have some important techniques. Have you searched the web??

There are a few videos out on U-tube, but most are pretty vague. No close up shots.
