I need to remove the glue from the headliner area up foward in my cabin.I would then like to paint it, I have removed some with a razor but it left some scratches.Any ideas?

there is a citrus based adhesive remover from Worst Marine that works well on adhesives used in vinyl stickers and such; not sure if it'll cut what you're dealing with though. But it's safe to work with, esp. upside down..and it smells good.

Try acetone.....it won't dissolve gel coat unless you soak it in said solvent for quite some time.

Goof off makes a new citrus gel that worked well for me when I removed vynil wraps from my truck. It took all the glue residue off and smelled great when I was done! Bought it at Home Depot for 5 bucks.

I agree with Goof Off or Goo Gone.
Goof Off comes in gallon cans.
It can go a long way.
