I am interested in opinions on my situation. I have a 1991 Doral with twin carbureted V6 engines. I have owned the boat since 2001 and put about 50-75 hours a year on it on the Chesapeake Bay.
The boat was built with no fuel filters or water separators other than the tiny filter in the fuel line connection at the carburetor. I have never, ever had a problem with debris or water in the fuel.
All the discussion about ethanol fuel I wonder if I should install additional filters. On one hand, maybe I should leave well enough alone. On the other, maybe additional filters will forestall a problem. Am I living on borrowed time?
