This Friday evening, I'll be leaving for two weeks, taking a well-needed vacation. We'll be driving out to Junction City, Kansas, to spend some time with relatives. I expect to be back on the board on Tuesday, November 27th.

I want a sh**ty job like yours---vacation damn near once a month. :)

John (rommer), I think they still use a telegraph and morse code out in Kansas. Wyatt Earp and Doc Holliday were in Kansas - they probably used smoke signals from their Colt Peacemakers.

Actually, my in-laws just (in the past few days) moved from one house to another, and may not have their computer set up just yet. But you never know, you may find me back here, talking $h*t again, before you know it.

Steve, while I did take a week off back in May, I've accumulated about 9 weeks of vacation time and I need to use some of it or lose it - and I don't plan on losing it! The other times this year that I've been away have all been official work functions (plus injury time off - had to use some of my vacation time for that, too, as I've run out of sick days).

The "Wizard of Waste" going to Kansas or Oz?

Andy, while "The Wizard of Waste" is a pretty good name, I prefer the name "Head Master" - to needle Peggie Hall a little bit - she goes by the name "Head Mistress" (which conjures up in my mind a picture of a 6'-3" dominatrix with a whip, dressed in a black leather corset with fishnet stockings and 5" spike heels, and wearing a black half-mask, like Zorro). In actuality, she's a little bitty thing, about 5'-3" and a blonde. But the mind is capable of some pretty far-out imagery at times.

Funny that you should bring up that whole Wizard of OZ bit. My wife's name is Dorothy and whenever she goes out there our nephews get on her about not wearing ruby slippers and not bringing Toto along with her. But hey, it's her family, not mine...!

Hey, I've been to Junction City.... and Wichita... and Lawrence.... and Lake Afton... and Dodge City... Well, having spent a year in Wichita during my USAF there wasn't much else to do but run all over the state chasing skirts and cold Coors.

Mike, I hear ya! Btw, got your joke via e-mail - pretty good! (Especially the part about us old guys having to get up early in the morning...) I passed it along to a bunch of my friends.

I think you should re-name the post ""Head"ing out of town on Vacation. I work hard and I don't need any sh!t from any of you piss ants." Long but effective.

BTW Vic. There is indeed a Pinera bread in Kansas. They have FREE WiFi. Bring your laptop. BoaterEd beats cow tipping any day.

Hey Vic, have a good vacation!

Did you ever get my PM?

I think so Craig, but don't remember what it was about. If you should read this today, re-send it - to refresh my memory. (I'm getting old and am afflicted with CRS !!!)
