Hi guys,

After today, I won't likely be on the board for a while. I'm taking a vacation, and will be away until December 5th or 6th. If I get a chance, I'll check in from time to time, but no guarantees.

Anyway, have a great Thanksgiving Holiday and weekend, and I'll see you all again in early December!

Vic,
Enjoy Bro'! We'll be waiting right here when you get back.

Vic, answer the big question: Are you going to opt for radiation or groping?

Have a great time.

Kurt, I don't know about Vic, but for me it's all a matter of the age, sex and overall appearance of the gropper. :-)

Have a good T-day everyone.

Bob

Thanks for the kind wishes, guys. I'll be driving - maybe my wife will do the groping...

Have fun. And have a real vacation by staying off the phone and computer.

For anyone who hasn't had the pleasure to work with Vic and get his valuable help he is one of the best.
Vic have a fun well deserved vacation.
Bill

Have fun on your trip, take some pics and share them when you get back!!!

Well, I'm back. Went to Virginia Beach for a few days right after Thanksgiving, and spent some time with a good buddy of mine, who also happens to be a Raritan Distributor. Went to the Christmas Tree lighting in Va. Beach, took the ferry in Portsmouth and wandered around the waterfront a bit - was cold and windy, so didn't do a whole lot there. Portsmouth (or Norfolk - who knows for sure?) also has a park that is all duded-up with Christmas lights, and you drive through in your car after dark - quite impressive, and the fee is just a few bucks per person. I was told that it takes a whole month to set up all the lights. It opens to the public at dark on the Saturday after Thanksgiving.

Came back, and took a day trip to New Hope, PA and the Delaware Water Gap. In the town of Delaware Water Gap, there is store that makes and sells homemade pies, so we stopped in for some Shoo-fly. Then did some work on the outside of my house on one day, and yesterday 'bout froze to death putting up Christmas lights on the house. All in all, it was a too-short period of time off. Vacation always seems to be the shortest week of the year!

Sorry, didn't take any pictures - forgot the camera at home.

For those of you who use the Chesapeake Bay Bridge-Tunnel complex from time to time, about 30 miles north of the entrance (or exit, depending on which way you're going) is the sleepy little town of Exmore, VA. In the town of Exmore, is the world-reknowned Exmore Diner. It is an old 40's style dining car that can maybe seat 35 people max. It seems to be the hub of the town, and the gathering place for EVERYBODY in the area. There's a rumor going around that Elvis once ate there. This time, we arrived about 11:30 AM on Sunday, just as church was letting out. We had about a 40 minute wait to get a booth. There are only about 6 or 7 booths, and the counter can seat about a dozen people - 15 or 16 at the very most. But the wait wasn't a real bother, because we chatted with several others who were also waiting, and everybody was pleasant and cordial.

Anyway, if you're ever in the proximity of Exmore, VA, and are hungry - stop in. It's like taking a trip back in time. Food's plain but good, pricing is cheap, staff is friendly, and there's an old black lab out in the parking lot begging leftovers from your plate. He belongs to a garage next door, but seems to always hang around in the parking lot, looking for a handout. So if you should stop in, and you see the dog outside, be sure to save something for him (or her) when you leave. A handful of leftover French Fries or some scraps from your plate are always a welcome treat.

Now that sounds like a pretty decent "staycation"! But they only give you 1 week off? I'll need to have a little talk with Kim about that :-)

We're off tomorrow for our ski place in SW PA for the first time since last March. They open on Friday. In the mean time, I'm going to install a new satellite dish and head to the 600 yard gun range I belong to ($10/year, what a deal!) and try out some of my new toys! Highs in the 20's with snow, but I'll be warmed by the lead, gun powder, and brass.

Kurt, I actually get 3 weeks vacation per year, but only took one week - I try to spread it out during the course of the year to break things up a little. That way, it helps enable me to maintain a small degree of mental health. Kim isn't my boss anymore, Customer Service/Tech Support is now under the direction of the Plant Manager.

600 yard range? That sounds like something my Garand would like.:)

Vic, I'm sure Kim has "some" pull there. From my conversations with her, you're pretty darn safe in your job (read: they'd go out of business without you're knowledge!).

Craig, I might post what I just brought up here with me (BTW, there's a good 2 feet of snow on the ground here). My Romanian PSL is with me, and I'm hoping to hit targets at 300-400 yards with it. It's blowing, and I'm not great with wind yet, but we'll see. I'm thinking about a Garand soon too. I've got a C&R FFL so the Garand can be shipped right to my front door. This week, however, is all Eastern European guns. I've got the PSL, the AK, the SKS, and a few more. FUN!!! :-)

Sounds like fun Kurt and snow too!
I have an AK on my wish list along with a few others. I will have to keep in mind about your FFL.

Have fun and be safe!
