Good Restaurants Near Anchorage by Boat

Don, how many slips does Molly’s they have ? I recall a few smaller ones in front of the deck and a couple larger ones near the parking lot. I have docked near the right side of the deck and I fit with an 11 6'.

Don't forget Capt Bills and The Fat Fish, but both with very limited docking.

Also there is small restaurant near the Babylon pool, has smaller slips. I forget the name but was told you can dock and eat there.

Ya no tanks tops, but tees are fine. I guess one day this wooly guy pulled up in a 37 Sea Ray with a wife beater tank and scared the crap out of every one.

Yeah....there's a few in front of the deck.....and a few on the side.........but there is a ton of space on the side of the parking lot too.

Every time we've been there.....never had a problem with dockage.
 
Thanks BJL! I didn't know they had a town dock in Seaford. I'll have to check it out.
 
JVM, Parkside is very small and gets very crowded in the nice weather. Reservations are usually a must if you plan on dinner unless you catch it just right and get lucky with a table. Then after dinner, just cruise down the canal opposite the restaurant and stop at our place! :)
 
BJL, how wide is the canal down to Parkside? How about the depth? Can I get down there with a 36" draft and dock with a 13' beam? Never been there.
 
Don't know the actual depth or width but we have some very large boats down here so you shouldn't have a problem. As for docking at Parkside, I would call and ask them. They do have a space on the side that I've seen large boats docked at but I would check with them as their dock spaces are very limited.
 
Food is excellent at Parkside and they probably have more tables outside than inside!

Thanks BJL! I just realized where it was. Duh!! My friend just rented a spot behind a house on Jetmore for his 24' Sea Ray. I was out with him Yesterday for a few hours. We saw the resturant and were wondering how it was. I didn't catch the name though. There were one or two empty slips but they looked pretty narrow. He might be able to make it in with his boat, but it didn't look like there were any slips that could accomodate my 11' beam.

Holy Grail: I don't think you will have any problems with your draft, I saw lots of big boats on that canal, but I think your beam might be an issue for docking there.
 
There is space for a large boat at the west end of the property, alongside the dock. I believe most of the spots in front of the restaurant are rented slips but I'm not sure. What side of Jetmore is your friends boat on? Jetmore is the other side of our canal.
 
I'll have to take a ride down there by car one day and check it out.
The house he rents at is on the north side of Jetmore, down at the east end of the block. The houses on the opposite side of the canal from his spot are on Garfield.
 
JV, all this talk is making me hungry for a boat lunch! Too bad the weather is getting crappy by the minute. We'll take a cruise down there just to check it out before we think of eating there. Its nice to know there is another good spot. I'm always looking for good places, but most in the Massapequa, Seaford, Wantagh area don't have enough docking for my boat. Wish it was different.

Catfish Max's used to be great, but they really turned us off with the "no kids preferred" comments. That happened to us two years ago when my kids were 14 and 10, very well behaved and we'd eaten there countless times. Oh well. Their loss. Thanks for the info anyway!
 
Yesterday a friend of mine told me the chef at Catfish left and the food was terrible last time he was there. Went with several people and said not one thing came out of the kitchen that was good. Very disappointing as we're used to going there every summer. Never heard they had a problem with kids........must've had a cranky waitress that day.
JVM, I know where you're talking about.........I used to live on north side of Garfield until we moved 2 blocks south to the canal.
