Boy, talk about frustrating suspense leading to a blessedly thankful conclusion! There were a lot of selfless heroes in that story.
Thanks , Mike, we already know you are one too on a routine basis. It's so very nice to hear such a relatively happy ending for a change.

Nah, this point in my career I'm stuck in my office more than the boats. I spend most of what time I am out on the boats training the younger bunch to go run the good stuff.
 
I thought you've packed it in by now. Good to see you're still at it. I ran out steam in 2008 and pulled the plug at 25 yrs. I found that NOAA needs me more than the CG does. Not a bad gig at all...

Two more years after this tour is up and I'll probably be retiring (whether I want to or not). Had a lot more fun as a duty stander - until this year, I had managed to not have a Monday to Friday job since the 90's! It's becoming more and more apparent that regular duty in this job is a young man's game, though. It was about that time.
