Civilians, for the most part, had little consideration for the service men and women and what they've gone through...except during a couple of holidays.

Kind of makes me cringe when I hear "Happy Memorial Day". Like congratulating someone at a funeral.

People are more self absorbed that ever and mostly oblivious to groups other than their own. Today we are overwhelmed by groups clamoring for attention, everyone is a victim of something. Vets mostly just try to get on with life
