The boat is loaded, and I am ready. The forecast models were great for Wednesday, The wind has turned North and the stream is getting friskey. The are calling for winds to turn east on Thursday which is the end of my window. Seas are still expected to be 5 feet, out of my comfort zone. Do any of you regular crossers have a reliable forecast site for the gulf stream. I am using:
http://www.wunderground.com/MAR/AM/575.html
and it is adding a foot to the sea every four hours. Yesterday they said the stream would be 2 to 3 Wednesday, now they say 5 to 6. I am crossing with an experienced sail boater, but he like most of those guys is crazy. I am in a 48 sea ray with a cruising speed of 24k.
