Overnighted in Hadley Harbor monday night, on the way to the yard in Fairhaven, what a beautiful place!

Entrance is a little tight but plenty of water although there is very little room inside to anchor out. Great protection though, might be worth the effort to use to anchor.

The 3 CG moorings are locked out and marked USCG use only. Being the off season i picked up a private mooring for the night. A sailboat came in later on and anchored out in the "channel" between the moorings despite the signs, probably fine at this time of the year and on a week day

It's all private but you are allowed to land a dink on Bull Island.

Inner Harbor, which extends another 200/300 yards around the point to the left:

harbor entrance, between the two buoys, Bull Island is straight ahead with the the channel to the inner harbor to the left, before bull. There is room to anchor in the outer harbor, just past and the right of the buoys (although exposed to the N):

Glad you are enjoying the place. Hadley Harbor is a great stop over. I am told at one time you could use the Coast Guard moorings, but they have been welded. Someone got hurt using them - figures. Anyway, here is a close-up shot of the barn in your picture.

By the way Pascal - where are you going next?

i have a close up of the barn with those beautiful sailboat in the gallery in the link i posted... neat place.

i considered tying a line to the chain under the CG buoy and would have if i had not found a private mooring...

We have the boat on the hard in Fairhaven MA for some work... schedule to launch on tuesday and start heading south then. Since i'm single handling i'm plan on running reasonable days (6 to 7 hours underway) especially with days getting shorter, so it's going to be a 3 to 4 week trip at 9kts to Miami

Ssshhhhh. No reason everyone has to know about Hadleys...
Although on a side note, through the gut to port before you enter the inner harbor is the little slot where the great white shark was 'stuck' a few years back. As a girl my mother, who spent most of her preteen years on Pasque, the next island out, used to stay at the Stone House in the winter (with the hired help!).

i remember that shark story...

off topic but is your email amy at c-map.com ? i have a C-map NT question, going to email you directly...
