Hailing "Shel"

Something got in and got the food and tripped the trap. I'm thinking if it was Squirt the trap might be too small and he was able to back out of it. We reset it and will check again tomorrow morning. Might have to upgrade to the next bigger trap. When we checked this morning we heard him a couple of times then nothing the rest of the day. Will try again.... Stay tuned....

Thanks for sharing your Rideau pictures with us, they are great. Funny, we saw that same two-story house boat when they passed our slip in Manotick. Sure looked like they were having fun! Did either of you see the Pirate boat? The crew was all dressed up to fit the Pirate theme.

Heya bcat, didn't see the pirate ship, that would have been cool! The folks on that houseboat were a hoot! They charged $2 to get on for a tour and $10 to get off! *lol* No not really! Apparently it's so unique they give tours all the time.

We're going back to get Squirt setup with a shelter and food. Gotta find someone to keep the food dish filled. We'll leave his blanky and catnip stuffed rat so maybe he'll begin to feel comfortable enough for us to get close again. Think we spooked him pretty good last time. I miss the dumb lil' sh*thead! *sigh*
 
Squirt's been missing for just over 2 weeks now. We went back tonight and heard him but he wouldn't come to us. We've been leaving food in his pet-carrier with his blanket and stuffed rat. Hopefully we'll be able to lure him in close enough so we can get ahold of him again. He's being pretty leary though. The folks who own the trailer will be back tomorrow so hopefully they can keep an eye out for him.

Now why would a cat give up this for life in the bush? :doh:

Update! Squirt has been sighted again! He's on the move. It appears he's headed back in the direction he came from, back to our friends cottage where he disappeared! We'll go back again on the weekend to try to capture his furry butt!
