Met with Harlan and admiral Lil yesterday in Smith Falls on the Redeau. A very very nice couple and we had a few drinks supper and shot the breeze.
They are heading to the north channel and if any of the Trent system or Georgion Bay boaters get a chance to meet this couple I guarantee that you will enjoy their company.
Ya just gota watch the ankle bitting dog..lol..

When I met them, we had a lot of drinks...

He launched from my marina near Williamsburg VA and got slammed for several days trying to get up the east coast due to early summer storms. He's in Canada and has even seen boats with blue tarps on them. He thought he was being followed. I told him not to worry, they were merely migratory coonasses. Last I heard from him he told me the reason canooks can sell medicine so cheap is because booze is about 4 times the cost it is in the states. Same for gasoline.

lots of missing information such as what was his route and why would he want to visit a tree hunter.

We have made it to Fenelon Falls. Have had a great trip. We have met a lot of wonderful, friendly and helpful people. The best part of the trip has been meeting our BE friends and their families.
We have been impressed by the friendliness of the folks in Canada and how clean and neat the towns and countryside are.
We are disappointed that we didn't get to meet more BE friends but, weather and time didn't let it happen, Maybe another trip another year! :-)
Thanks to everyone for making the trip so enjoyable.

We had the pleasure of meeting Harlan and Lil (and Gertrude - who made herself right at home) on the Hudson River, and anchoring with them in Bowline Pond. Unfortunately, they came up the one weekend that I could not stay on the boat on a Sunday night, so our drinking time was limited.

Hey Harlan, if you are in Fenelon Falls say Hi to my mother.
She will be at the Fenelon Falls Legion Bar from 7:00 to 10:00 pm. just like any other day.
Just look for the 90 year old former Signals Corporal CWAC with two rum and cokes
in front of her. She always orders two 'cause service is slow.
That'd be my Mom.

Here is Dad's boat in Fenelon Falls when I was 14 years old, 50 years ago.
