Haverstraw Marina Question

Well, I took the plunge and ordered a hamburger on Friday.
The results? It was perfectly cooked and quite tasty!!
I didn't look at the price of it though. I didn't want to spoil my appetite.

Since this has gone so far off topic I figure I can chime in here without being accused of highjacking the OPs thread...A bunch of us SSPS members are heading up there for the weekend and I was wondering if it worth it or possibly necessary to bring my dink to explore. I have a relatively weak engine as I just bought it as a dog ferry for when we moor in the bay and I was wondering if it would be any match for the Hudson current.

Oh and how many BE folks keep your boat there so I can drop in and say hello?

Any input would be appreciated.

Jeff

Jeff,

I would say bring it. Havertsraw is a big marina and alot of people dink around tha marina for fun... A nice bevy and a cigar putting around the marina can be a relaxing afternoon...

Also, if you have any plans to spend the day at our #3 Beach (#5 Anchorage) in the NE, Croton Point Beach, a dink ride is alway a fun time and if you bring the dog a must...

FYI: local fireworks are Thursday July 3rd.

jeff c, they will probably put you on green dock somewhere with a 31 footer. We are on green 21...probably be there Sat or Sun some time. Maybe we'll get a chance to introduce ourselves. Have a great trip.

Just north of Haverstraw you have a ton of RO's at PennyBridge and Stony Point Bay Marinas.

Note to self...pack cigars!

Jim and Helene? Maybe...I need a boat name or brand of Vodka :)

We are heading up Thursday morning (it's about a 3.5hr cruise or so I've heard) and we are looking forward to the fireworks. For those of you in the Marina, keep an ear open because I'm sure you will hear my son rocking out on his guitar at some point during the weekend...or you will at least meet our dogs French Fry and Milkshake.

Jeff:

Bring the dink, even if you just explore the marina, best way to see everything is in the dink.

We are at Green 70. Stop by for a refresher.

Well...we are here. We are in Silver 51. Nice marina, BTW. Just a little bit of a hike to walk the dogs or use the BBQs from back here but at least the kids have a straight shot to get to the pool.

If any BE ROs want to stop by just follow your ears...we are the loud group (sorry).

Jeff

I will try to stop over today to say hello. How long are you there for?

Hey Hogan,

Thanks for stopping by. That was very nice of you. I was very surprised. Unfortunately, you caught me at a bad time and my mind was elsewhere. Most of us stayed through 10ish this am and a few of us are staying through tomorrow.

We had a great time but we may have been a little too much for the regulars that were interspersed among our slip assignments. It is a nice marina and I would recommend it for a visit to anyone.

Jeff

Nice to meet you too, Jeff. Enjoy your night there tonight and get home safely.
