Well of course i had issues with a bilgeetcand the mechanic came by and to make a long story short my head will not flush. How can I determin whether its a plumbing issue or a power issue. Two questions...

1. can it be plunged with a plunger if the pumr is bad.

2. how can i trouble shoot the problem. (efficiently)

My boat is a 2001 aquasport 275 walk/around..

"If you cant beat em...Liq em!"

if you dont' say what kind of head you have, you're not going to get too many useful replies !!!

start with the basics : power. check for popped breakers, burned fuses and see if you have power at the pump terminal...

usually plungers dont' work to well on boat, although on vacuflush it can be the tool of last resort before opening the duckbill...

Pascal, have you found anything to feed the ducks to improve their oral health short of a trip to the dentist? I'm not looking forward to that.

VacuFlush head. is what i have. I would appreciate any input.
Well i guess thats why my Tiara was so expensive!! Cant beat a good crapper....

What does it do or not do? No vacuum? Does the vac pump run but never shut down?

Little help here please.

The crystal ball's a little cloudy today.

What's it doing or not doing? To say that it isn't working, doesn't quite cut it. How isn't it working?

ok, so now we know what it is. now what is it not doing ???

is the vac pump running ? if it's then you have a clog... hold the pedal down and look down the bottom, do you see something stuck there. if so, dont' force it down, you're likely to just make it worst but using a piece of wire or something, try pulling out whatever is cloging the venturi at the bottom.

if you don't see anything, then the clog is at the duck bill down the line. you can try a plunger, that's the last resort before opening the duckbill valves... i know some say that a plunger can damage the valves, it's never happened to me. give it a shot.

if that doens't work, you need to open the duckbill and clear it manually. not pleasant but if the pump is accessible, it's no big deal.

now, if the vac pump doesn't run, that's another story... check the basics (breaker or fuse). find the vac switch. again, you dont' say waht VF you have... i guess you have an all in one, not a separate vac tank, so find the switch on the unit and see if you have power there. push or pull the rod manually to see if the pump start.

VF is a very good system... usually an option/upgrade, they have very few moving parts and are very reliable... unless someone decides to flush a tampon or half a roll of TP !

THANKS.. OK I HAVE THE 1006 VACUFLUSH EVERYTHING LOOKS CLEAN IN THE NECK OF THE HEAD AND I DID PLUNGE IT. THE PROBLEM I HAVE IS THAT THE HEADS VACUUM SYSTEM WORKS ONLY INTERMITANTLY. IT FLUSHES ..I FILL IT IT FLUSHES .. I FILL IT (THEN NO VACUUM) I CANNOT FIND THE VACUUM SWITCH ON THE SYSTEM.... MAYBE I SHOULD GET SOMEONE (PROFESIONALLY) TO LOOK AT IT. IF THATS MY OPTION DOES ANYONE KNOW OF ANYONE IN THE FT,LAUD AREA THAT DOES DOCKSIDE REPAIR????
OF COURSE ID RATHER CORRECT THE PROBLEM MYSELF.

I think your keyboard is broken too. Seems to only SHOUT!

1006 is the head nr, irrelevant to your problem...

you need to find the vac pump and vac tank/generator.. the switch and all will be there, shoudl be easy to spot and trouble shoot.

if it works intermitently, i woudl suspect the switch. a clog would not be intermittent.

VF are simple and very easy to troubleshoot
