I have a 340 sundancer that the head is not working. I can hear the pump running butin the engine room but, it doesnt sound like it is running full speed. Normally I can hear the white tube looking thing sucking. I pushed the switch at the end of tube thing and heard a click so I think the pressure switch is working. I am not sure what to check next. Any clues?

Have you had any recent female guests that might have flushed something you shouldn't in a VacuFlush?
Does the bowl hold water? If not clean the seal and make sure the pedal allows the ball to close on the toilets venturi.
Bill

Did you try to pump out with the Seacock shut even for a mistaken 1 second?

The bowl will hold water, If it was cloged wouldn't I still hear the sucking sound from the white tank? I did take a shop vac and try to suck out a clog, from the head side, but nothing but water came out. No I have not tried to pumped out. I have tried to pump straight from the head to overboard. Still no go.

edit - To make it clear I hear a pump running, but it is not the big white vac thing. The pipes go from the head to the vac white expander thing then to a pump with a crome like square top(wherer the duck bill are). That is the thing running, but you can feel it more than hear it. I had to touch it to amke sure it was on.

"I did take a shop vac and try to suck out a clog, from the head side,"

Not exactly on point, but I've never felt that a MSD responded well to being forced to work in reverse. ie: trying to suck anything backwards through the system does not seem like a good plan. A MSD contains one or more "flapper" or "duckbill" valves that can get fouled or damaged by forcing the flow backwards against them. They are "one-way" valves...

Ok. Back to the regularly scheduled thread...

I can't beleive no one has commented on the thread title "head not sucking" Doug left the door WAY open for you guys

"no one has commented on the thread title"

... because this is the sanitation thread, and we're 'spozed to act professional-like. That title would not last 30 seconds in NBR.

Funny Funny . . . Yeah didnt think about anything beigh one way. I am down here now getting ready to pull DBs I will let you know what I find. . . . One last question if I pull the DBs this thing should run non stop correct? I should here the white thing pumping if it is a DB problem right?. . . ok someone tell me what is that white thing called I am tired of calling it a white thing! Thanks for the help.

I pulled the DB . . no change! What voltage should I have at the (white thinge)? Maybe a voltage or fuse problem?

Edit - ok I pulled the pressure switch off the (white Thingie), it looked ok. When I put the switch back,I noticed the pump that was pumping before cut off when I pushed in the presure switch. . . but it is not like the pump was pumping to start with; it was just making a small noise.
Maybe it is the pressure switch, but why dont I hear the white thingie sucking? Man this is killing me! no duck bills, no hoses going to pump(where duck bills go) it still will not work.

BTW the White thing is an Vaccum Accumulator. It does not pump, just holds the vacuum. The switch on the Accumulator controls when the pump runs. Teh pump you hear "or see" is the vacuum pump. They are not noisy, especially the newer ones.

Does the head flush or is there no vacuum at the toilet.
