The boat is new to me... so please be patient (first boat with a head)
My head is marked type K - not sure of the manufacturer (need to look closer at it as I have spent more time behind the bulkhead cleaning the area [explained below]...) The head has a foot pedal and was originally manually pumped, but previous owner added and electric motor.
Plumbing goes like this:
It takes raw water from a seacock (plumbed directly to the head - no filter), from the head to an on / off valve (operated from within the head).
From the "on / off" valve it goes to a vented loop and then to the holding tank (type III MSD), where it can be pumped out or sent thorough the macerator and pumped overboard (there is a вЂy' valve for this change).
First question: the vented loop has a barbed fitting on top and that's it - nothing connected. This would probably explain why I spent more time cleaning behind the head
How should the loop be setup?
Second question: how to operate? The original placard says to open the valve on the wall (вЂon/ off' lever) then step on the foot pedal and pump the handle. When finished, close the on / off valve.
With the electric motor is everything the same - less the manual pumping part? (Probably not easy to answer without the head manufacturer). The boat is a 1989 Cruisers Inc. 2660 if that helps.
Thanks
