I have a Raymarine system on my Sea Ray, connected via SeaTalk. The previus owner (maybe the factory) had both the fluxgate comnpass
and heading indicator wired to the course computer - originally a Type 300 which I recently replaced with the S3.
My question - isn't the heading indicator redundant with the fluxgate compass? I note the newer systems don't even show the heading indicator.
