Picking up Jacques AKA "Bandit" our pilot.

Off the beach through the "Backbone" reef.

Fast ferry "Bohengy" that runs daily between Nassau, Spanishwells and Harbour Island.

The Sands family (as in Sands beer) home on Gun Point.

Into Spanishwells.

The blue building in this first picture is the new, and only, restaurant in Spanishwells.

Bandits boat under tow. While the boat we normally tow follows behind.

Through Spanishwells after dropping Jacques off and our tender back under tow while we head to Nassau and Atlantis.

Sunset docked in Atlantis.

Not bad at all. Great work if you can get it. :)

Good pictures... Never been to harbor island, seems to me that it s a great place to spend most of the time in a marina vs anchorage hopping, is it.

Pascal that is the way we saw it when we were there. While some boats anchor there, it is not exactly a cool place to hang on the hook. Nothing like the Exumas. We stayed at Ramora Bay for 2 weeks. There are a number of very good restaurants overlooking the water, and while the beach is clean it was a little dull because it was so clean there were no shells etc..

Most people do go to the marinas. There are a couple of places to anchor out. And if it blows up out of the West it's best to get out of the marina and anchor off in the lee of Eleuthera till it blows over.

The good thing about HI is that it offers easy flights in and out from the airport right across the bight on Eleuthera and it's a nice place to hang for those who aren't into anchoring out and want some places to eat and drink off the boat. And to shop.

Taking your tender or a water taxi over to Eleuthera and renting a car for a day or two to explore Eleuthera is a nice diversion as well. As is spending a day checking out Spanishwells.

Nice pictures Capt. Bill. We went for the first time this year and really enjoyed it. We did have a pretty rough passage coming from Elbow cay in the Abacos, and were really put off by the nonstop wakes at Valentines that the small ferry boats make going to Eleuthra and back. Otherwise there are beautiful "pink sand" beaches with very nice sand texture. And some really nice islands and local anchorages to explore by dinghy and a good place to ride the bicycles. Also, some good local restaurants as well.

Ramora was quiet for us, but we were back in on the second row bow facing out. I agree with the advice on Westerlies. We heard a couple of stories about nasty experiences with 2-3' chop rolling in.
I will say one has to be wary of potcakes when walking North.
