Looking for a nice place to spend a few days in the Cape Cod area. Would like inside the Cape but outside is fine as well. Just the wife and our 2 dogs so things like pet friendly and a restaurant are needed. Pool, not required.

Thanks!

Rommer,

I can pass along a thumbs up to 2 that I've stayed at. Both on the south side. One is Macdougals in Falmouth Inner harbor. The inner harbor is very nice and protected and reminds me a lot of florida for some reason with bulkheads houses and docks surrounding a long narrow harbor. The town of falmouth is very cool with a nice main street, plenty of restaurants and shops. There are several marinas in the inner harbor. Macdougals is a bit of a walk to town but facilities are nice/clean and it's a quick walk to beach and a park for the dog. If you are looking for closer to the town, you can go with other marinas farther up the harbor. I look forward to going back here.

I've also stayed at Hyannis marina farther out on the cape. Nice facilities with a restaurant and pool/bar-food on site. Other restaurants are near by. Town of Hyannis is nice with plenty of shops and restaurants but it's a bit of a walk to town. Maybe 1.5miles. The Marina offers courtesy cars for shopping etc..

Enjoy your trip.

As a long time sailor around the Cape and islands I can say Prospective has given great advice. Now I own a power boat in neNport and am beginning to explore Narragansett Bay. What areas do you recommend?

Don't know if Plymouth is out of your way but the Brewers marina is a nice stop. There is a park, resteraunts and a nice atmosphere for a stop. I would recommend it for a night or two. I stopped there on my way back down from Maine for one night and wished we had planned on two.

I'm not aware of any spots on the north side of the cape until you get out to the very end at Provincetown which is not my cup of tea.

Used to really like Kingman Marine just on the west end of the canal. Really nice restaurant, moorings, docks, anchoring is protected. Nice for us.
