I'm hoping some of you guys can give me some insight. Here's the problem: I was getting set to back my boat into my slip and took the shifter/throttle out of fwd gear into neutral, hesitated for a moment and then into reverse. The problem is that it then took several seconds to go into gear before finaling clunking into reverse. I put it back in neutral, hesitated and put it back into reverse. No problem this time, just a normal shift into reverse. Later on that same day it did the same thing. Just FYI, whenever I shift into gear from neutral I shift quick to the detent point of the controls and it usually kicks into fwd/reverse almost immediately. Does this sound like a potential problem on the horizon for my drive? Sterndrive combo is a 1995 Merc 7.4L/Bravo III.
