What make/model toilet? Is it raw water flush or fresh water flush?

Not enough info to give a sure aswer, but:

check that the inlet valve(s) is open. If raw water, the seacock, if pressurized fresh water, be sure the fresh water is pressurized.

Is the switch in the correct position? Some heads have a switch for "dry flush/wet flush".

Have you ever serviced the head? What make/model? How old. What have you checked?

More info = better answers...

Let us know.

hi willi

not sure the make but it uses raw water to flush

Check that the thru-hull is not blocked. ie: plastic stuck in opening/hose.

Check that the seacock is actually open.

Service the pump. Most heads have a service kit w/ new seals, flappers, and joker valve. Be sure to lube as instructed.

if you can get the make/model we can look at the exploded diagram and get you a link to that so you can look at it too.

In spite of having a reputation for being mysterious, a marine head is not all that complicated.

With my former raw water head, I had simular problems from time to time. Especially if the head was unused for a couple of weeks or more. To solve the problem initially, I cut the inlet line and put a fitting in so I cut pull the inlet line apart if I needed to. When it lost it's prime and pumped dry. I would pour a little mineral oil into the inlet side of the head to lubricate the impeller and run the pump for a second or two, then I would fill the side going to the thru hull with water. She would regain it's prime and I would be good for the weekend again. I finally got tired of this procedure and upgraded to a fresh water flush head.

Thanks for the info guys....

I will be on the boat tomorrow and i will get some more info like the make and model of the unit..
Bill if we could find a link like you said that would be real helpful..
Stay tuned...
