Is there a town nearby? Anything for 16 - 19 YO's to do there?

Last year we tied up there to wait out rough water on the Bay. They had a shuttle to the town which had some shops etc.. There is also a small boardwalk but we're definitely not talking Wildwood NJ here. Since we were traveling South in the fall, things were pretty laid back. The place was a clean, well landscaped resort type atmosphere as opposed to a transient facility. Not sure about amenities like a pool and such.
With a dink perhaps they could go out on the bay and fish? But if the wind is blowing you'll know it.

Zoom in with Google Earth.

We are slip holders in HHN and transient to HHS. (Herrington South) There is a pool there, it is a resort marina, no towns nearby unless you go to Chesapeake Beach. Last two years there was a trolley on weekends for 25 cents that ran between marinas, and Chesapeake and North Beach, don't know if it will be there this year. There are tennis courts and a restaurant on the premesis, a greatplace to relax.

The trollies will be running from HHS to Chesapeake Beach on weekends, still a quarter a ride. There is a water park at Chesapeake, don't know much about it and if older teens woud be interested.

HHS is a great marina, very large with a great pool and restaurant set up. Have to take a shuttle to town. Not sure if kids would totally enjoy the town, mostly for adults.

The facility is also right on the Chesapeake and has a nice beach. You can swim if the Jellies arent in. They also have fishing near by. My wife and I really enjoy the marina. It is concidered one of the " Best of the Bay"

Try and get a bulkhead slip just inside the entrance of the marina. Not in the channel entrance but they have a transient dock that is side to docking and is in the middle of everything. If you are in one of the slips it is possible you could be a LONG way from the pool and rest.

I hear it's nice, but I won't go there. We got kept out by weather one year and they charged us and then gave our slip to somebody else (we were meeting up with friends). I also just had to testify against the owner in my fight to keep the Chesapeake from becoming an NDZ. Let's just say that if he worked for me, I'd fire him.
