Ya, I like this site. Its nice talking with folks about my favorite subject. "Boats" I've had a few, but really like the quality of my Carvers. I'm from up state NY, folks had a cabin by Cape Vincent. Now live in MN and boat the Mississippi since 1975.

I've been pounding the internet and Carver looking for a few things for my 1990 34/38 Santego. I'm still looking for the dash plates that the gauges mount in or behind. Fella before me chopped the dash for the radar and plotter. They made them from 1989 to 2002, in two different colors (mine are black w/red stripe). On the swim platform there is two big storage compartments, I'm looking for the covers. Thanks for the help!

Send Kenny (Ramsport47) a PM, he works for a Carver dealer in OH and maybe he can help you out - he has posted on similar subjects on other threads...

I don't think that you are going to find these parts from a catalog. My guess is for those kind of parts you would either need to make them yourself, or have them custom built locally. The dash could easily be cut from lexan or teak. I've been thinking of buying a piece of teak planking and making new dash plates myself.

You could cut covers for the swim platform from Starboard

Thanks for your help! I think your right about the starboard. I have a pattern from another boat, the only thing is the starboard may not be very shiny. I person, might be able to buff it(?) The dash plates are a toughy. I could make the upper plates, but the bottom ones have a lot of wording. I found a person who can make the plates out of clear plastic and the black color is on the back so he can engrave the wording. I'm not sure how the clear plastic would take the sun over time. I emailed every Carver dealer I could find on the internet, looking for old stock. Only a few emailed back. Great lakes skipper has several Carver parts, but not what I need....I'll have to make them(?)

Sounds like you will have to make them, night moves. I know all of you wish
Carver made everything available for your boats forever, and they do a very good job at keeping stuff available longer than most. Working at a dealer that takes many other brands in on trade, believe me when I tell you that Carver outshines about everyone in this aspect. Need something for a 2 year old Wellcraft? Too bad...not available.

Back to your dash plates...there are many companies that can duplicate the panels with wording. It will probably not be cheap, but it will give you the new look you desire. Carver did not produce these themselves, and the company that did, doesn't anymore so local is going to be the only way.

search the web for custom dasb boards. there are several options.

Another avenue may be to check with a kitchen cabinet seller? Find a cabinet finish you like and most will have what they call an END PANEL or Refrigerator End Panel it's usually a 80" x 25" or 4' x 8' sheet of the Plywood skins finished the same cabinet color. This can be used either by itself or over a piece of Starboard to make any size dash you like. I'd probably put a few coats of lacquer over it too?

Thanks for the good ideas! I'd like to do something. Maybe a plastic company would have sheet plastic in about 1/2" thick. White, shiny, for the rear hatch covers. I have the fender holes now. Its handy for those, but the compartments are larger, would be nice for hoses and cords. I did several mod.s inside on my 28 mariner, working with wood is a lot easier then plastic and glass.

Regular white plastic you can usually find on Ebay or Home Depot.

Night Moves,
if you are looking for a company that makes custom dash panels for your boat, below is a company that Carver used on their Trojans. I needed to have mine replaced due to being warped and faded. I spoke to the owner who was very helpful in replacing my dash panels. All you need to do is take picture of what you have and make a template. Send the template with the correct hole sizes you need for guages switches etc. They will build what you need.

Tenna-Sea-N,
I was originally going to have new panels made for my 3257 Carver Montego last year, however I sold it. But when I spoke to Tecnogrfics, they said the easiest way to duplicate the panels in the simulated wood (that's what I was looking to do) was to send them the originals and they would duplicate them in the simulated wood. It is a winter project.

Bob,

Did you get into a price range with Tenograpic. I checked their website, and it looks interesting! Thanks for the tip.

No, I did not unfortunately. The panels I received from them for the Trojan were replacements. I was thinking about additional panel that I would like to have made. I just need to make the templates.

Thanks for the info! I'll check them out. Sorry I didn't respond soooner, I had the FLU. I hate this winter junk!

Out of the five panels, the bottom two are the most involved to remove, but hey its WINTER right. Capt. said, they may have plastic at Home depot(?) I've been watching ebay also. Thanks for all the help!
