Down at boat. Sleeping here tonight. Strong wind is blowing the water into the bay. Water is about 8 inches from top of bulkhead. Time is 8;15.

Same here in South Jersey in Little Egg Harbor. It was also high last night. It is also very foggy here similar to last night. Its nice and quiet here not many people sleeping over yet.
Take care. Bill

I also noticed that the high tide last night was higher then normal............and the last week or so the water has been a $h!t brown color...........I think the water temp is still a little to cold yet for any type of algie......wonder what it is ???

It's called Brown Tide. It is more common out east, but happens here occasionally.

Some minor street flooding here last night. Not he worst I've seen but higher than normal for the Hudson River.

That Brown tide plume starts over by D dock and usually wonders through the marina.
Not sure where it comes from exactly!!

Last night it was real easy getting on and off the boat. I had to actually step DOWN to my finger pier to walk Gizmo.

Walter, I check your lines around 9 or so, all was good. I saw a few boats straining their lines but, since it was already on the way down, I was not gonna deal with them. Last thing I need is to fall into freezing water with not a single person in the marina and my wife sleeping like log! Gizmo would jump in to help me, but alot of good that would do.

Well............after that dinner we had at South Side last night.........I would assume its from D dock also.

Thanks Dave,

Don,
That coconut shrimp was good, thanks....

Was it me or did you guys think the portions were smaller, I thought I noticed that, and also heard some guy complain to a girl at the counter.

Walter

My Tuna was actually larger than usual. The mussels were not great, lesson leaned, when something is on "SPECIAL", in a fish store, it means, "getting old, lets get rid of this stuff". We went to OLIO in Commack tonight, mussels were excellent there!

Yeah......the portions were about the same size.... the food quality has gone down the tubes.

We tried to get into Mama's ( Italian Resturant ) " Grand Re-opening " tonight............the line was out the door. We'll do lunch there tomorrow instead.

In the shopping center......on the corner ( S. Greatneck Rd. & Montauk Hwy )

Tides were high because it is a new moon combined with the earth being closest to the moon. Wednesday should be the highest tides.
