Ok, I guess I am not so sure about this. So the bay and the ocean connect. They connect at the numerous inlets we have.
Opening a new inlet in my eyes, shouldn't cause any more or less water to come into the bay.
If you have a pool and your filling it with a hose, adding another hose connected to the same house does not fill it much faster or more as it's from the same source.
Something tells me that this could be more from all the sand that blew into bay and is displacing some of the water normally there.
Plus like I said earlier, we are flooded here on the North Shore today when we usually don't flood.
Bottom line, we got alot of rain and runoff.
I am not totally convinced the new inlet is causing higher tides, but I am not expert!
