I have a 74 model Nautaline Houseboat, which is set up with an older Crown 12v Head. When I purchased the boat, it was set up to use the Purasan waste treatment system which is installed.

I moved the boat from KY Lake to Laurel River Lake in London, Ky, which is no overboard discharge, black or gray water. So, 3 years ago, I installed a holding tank and routed the discharge hose from the head down into the bilge to the tank, and capped off the line going to the purasan.

This was approx. 3 years ago and until now I had never given much serious consideration to the Purasan unit. The purasan is still hooked up electrically and cycles on with each flush of the toilet, I am not familar with how these units work, has this destroyed the unit by running it dry? At a minimum i'm going to disconnect the Purasan, and may remove it all together, but the way its installed it will be a bear to get out.

The second question I have is regarding the head/holding tank. The crown head does a good job macerating the waste, and flushes fine. Odor is not a problem, but my line to the tank is approx. 6' to 7', and appears to stay full of water when the head is used frequently. I have 1 1/2 discharge hose to the tank, is there an inline booster pump that will help push the waste on to the tank. Like I said at the moment I can't tell the line holding water/waste is a problem but I would like to get in on to the tank a little better if I could.

Sorry to be so long. Thanks in advance.
