Holiday weekend blues

Took the boat out today to go snapper fishing (which I've been doing almost every day without a problem). Got about 7 house down my canal and the engine died. Kept starting, dying, lots of smoke a high idle. Neighbor towed me home with his skiff but we can't get the engine to keep running. If I push in the key choke when it start to die, it will idle high again. Tried adding carb cleaner to the gas but no luck. So a call went out to the mechanic who said he'd "be there in the morning". Looks like this weekend will be a non boating one.

Barb......could it be bad fuel ?? Maybe try some E-Zorb ?

Not sure Don. I did run it last night with the tank low and then I put in 12 gallons today (also put the same gas in my SUV and had no problem with the car). I might've picked up some junk from the bottom of the tank from last night but who knows. Hopefully the mechanic will be here early and be able to do something. This is the first time we don't have a "back up" boat so you know I'm gonna hear about it. On the up side, we were supposed to have friends on the boat tomorrow and we really didn't feel like having company so we had a good excuse to raincheck with them!!! I can always use the Zodiak for snapper fishing
By the way, where's the best place to buy the E-Zorb.......can't hurt to have it on hand.

Could be worse. You could be stuck in a TV truck at the US Open everyday until Sept. 9th with no chance of getting out on the water.
