Last weekend I stuffed as much fuel as I could into my tank in preparation for the MD weekend. The published capacity is 75 gallons and I gotta be right at 70 or so.
I keep the boat on its trailer in the driveway with the bow slightly elevated to let rainwater run to the bilge and out the garboard drain.
Today, it hit 87*...sun's been on the boat all day ..I get out of the truck, close the door and I'm smelling gas. Didn't occur to me right away and then I see this puddle under the fuel fill...fuel has expanded and has been blowing out thru the vent!
Cranked the bow down and removed the cap...WHOOSH...big blast of air and gas stops coming thru the fill tube.
Okay, I have had fuel venting for I don't know how long today...but enough where it has stained the rub rail this orange color and a little staining on the gelcoat.
Any ideas how to take this out?
