I have an OMC 351cu and Alpha I/O.
Two troubles that may be related.
Engine starts great when cold. Does not want to start hot - usually - somethimes starts easy when hot.
Boat stalls sometimes when docking - shifting our of gear and then reengaging forward - dies.
When the two are put together - hot engine that wont restart when I am in close quarters - means that I have an unusable boat until fixed.
The shift cutout switch seems to work - it kills engine it I manually trip the rocker switch.
When engine is hot, restart will sometimes occur if I follow a flooded engine procedure - full throttle - keep cranking. Other times this does nothing....
I replaced the coil as I have had an intermittent coil cause similar things in cars. Wondering if I have both a cut-out switch/module problem along with a mis-adjusted carb (4bbl)..... ideas.
My usual mechanical sense if missing on this one.
