I will be picking up a Webber Baby Q grill for the new boat and I'm looking for options as to where/how to mount it.

My last boat had a island on the bridge that I just sat it on, but this boat's bridge counter tops are too close to heat unfriendly elements..

So suggestions are welcome?

Hi abalmuth,
Not sure if this is applicable to your case but may give you some ideas. We love the BabyQ as compared with the marine type grills.

My boat is a Sportfish so I needed a rod holder type mount for my BabyQ. Finding none commercially available I saw a prototype online and made my mount using a 3/4" piece of Starboard. I used U-bolts on one side that catch the right side legs, and J-bolts on the other side that can be turned to hold the left legs down. I used wing-nuts underneath to tighten. It is very sturdy. I used an off the shelf rod attachment connected to the starboard.

I'll upload some pictures as soon as I figure out how to do it on this forum
Hope this helps!

The Magma bait tables are the perfect fit. You can drill out the legs on the Q and table and run nut and bolt if you are afraid of it sliding off table.

Thanks for the feedback
As of now there is no rodholders on the boat so the mount has attach to a railing

I used the Magama round rail clamps link

I was able to get the clamps separately from all of the other hardware because I threw out the magma grill they came with. Then I attached them to a piece of plywood that I mounted the grill to. It was clumsy to store but once it was set up it rocked. If you go this route the clamp size is (obviously) important as nothing can be done to get them tight if they are not sized properly.

Dan,
Looks like it could be a winner
thx

I located the clamps in the middle of the mounting surface. These are offset so if you go this route after ensuring the clamps are sized correctly try to mount the grill such that it is centrally located over the rail. Watched another boater lose several nice steaks because the clamps were wrong.
