How long have you owned your boat?

October 2010 we purchased our first boat... A 1997 Larson Cabrio 310. It's been a road of ups and downs... But likely my biggest problem is the lack of usage...finding the time to go out boating.
 
Five years and I intend to keep it as long as I am able to use it. I don't need a bigger boat and a smaller boat would be too small.
 
The first boat I bought was a 16ft tri-hull rode like crap but we were teenagers who cared.
Second boat was 17ft Mako great boat not fast enough so I bolted a 175 Evinrude on it, WOW.
Third boat was a 22ft Larson and a good starter family boat.
Fourth boat I bought new was a 24ft Rinker that we used so much I said we should go bigger.
My present boat is a 27ft Searay Sundancer I've have for 10 years a great boat and the only thing I wish we had more time to use it as a family.
I'm ready to get away from I/O's though they require constant attention, my next boat will have outboard power and a hard top. I might even go a little smaller.

My first boat was 19' cuddy w/OB. I had it 4 yrs.

My second boat was my last. It was a 22' full cabin cruiser. Loved that boat; I had it for 18 yrs.
Now she lives with my son in Nome Alaska and has been on TV!!!
 
So far...as long as the warranty plus one year. So 6 seasons and then I've moved up. I suspect this boat might stick around a little longer but who knows as each change has come along with a change in the way I boat.
 
Chris Craft is 38 yrs old and I've had her for 14 yrs. Re-powered/re-fitted.
Whaler is 10 yrs old and I've had her for 7 yrs.
Hobie is 26yrs old and I am original owner.
Zodiac I think is 16 and I've had her for 5 yrs.

The couple Sea-Rays I had before the Chris I had for 3-4yrs before moving up.
 
I am on the 16th year with my 1985 31' Tiara. Just 1520 hours on original 454's.

Just my opinion....when I read the posts about what is the best oil to use straight 30 or 40, multi 15-40 or synthetic, the only boater's that can really voice a valid opinion are those that have owned the boat for many, many years and have not blown an engine. How else can someone running a boat for 2 or three years validate using a specific oil or brand and claim one is better than another?

-3 days!! I am having a new to me 14' Lomac RIB with 40hp Merc. delivered to my sisters lake house Saturday October 5th. It should be a lotta fun on her 100 acre lake!

My very first boat I had for 2 years. a brand new 1987 Bayliner 2455 Sunbridge on Lake Michigan - Diversey harbor.
Next boat was a Cruisers 26 footer with twin 180hp Hammond Marina for 4 years.
Third boat was a gorgeous Carver/Trojan 400 express; I had that for about a year also in Hammond Marina.

Currently don't miss the bigger boats at all, just miss being out on the water!
 
My first boat was a 16' trihull bow rider. I got it in 1977. Had it until 1994 when I sold it and got an 18'with a cuddy cabin. It has a merc I/O. We still have it. Don't want anything larger. I can fix it myself and take it to Florida in the winter.
 
18 Years with only 2,500+ hours, hope to be out on it again tomorrow! Previous one was owned only for 3 years.
 
1st boat 17 foot silverline had for 3 years
2nd 1994 crownline 250 cr had for 16 years and just moved up last month to a 1989 carver montego 3257 which I am sure I will have for many years to come!
 
Current boat since 2002. No plans to replace any time soon.

Trojan 440 Express 2011-2017 now how do I know I am selling it in 2017! I signed a marine contract with my wife that I can't sell, buy or look at any other boat for at list 6 years.
