How many marinas

Seriously though, I'd have to say that all of the marinas in the USA are in the world.
 
According to an IBISWorld industry report of 2014, there are 3818 Marinas in the USA.
 
I keep reading about a large number of marinas along the (A) ICW that are no longer there or never rebuilt after the various weather events that took them down. I'm kind of curious what is called a marina? Do they need dock water, AC power, a bathroom w/ shower facilities?

And before that I recall reading that marina's were selling to developers so they could build time shares and condo's that ultimately fell in like a house of cards when the economy tanked.
